Clam Sauce

Canned clams and bottled clam juice are used in this clam sauce, seasoned with garlic and basil, slightly thickened, and served over linguine.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 cloves garlic**
  • 3, 6 oz. cans minced or chopped clams
  • 1 tsp chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 8 oz. bottle clam juice
  • Liguine, cooked and drained

Method

Melt butter on low, add garlic and stir in flour. Add liquid from clams and the bottle of clam juice; stir. Add seasonings and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Add clams and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve over pasta

 

Notes: ** I use 1 tsp. of bottled chopped garlic and this works fine.
