Fish Balls

Here fish is steamed, mashed, combined with potato, chilies, and cilantro and fried in oil. Serve with cocktail sauce or ketchup.
 

Ingredients

  • 3 fish fillets(Tilapia)
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cooked
  • 2 green chilies, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for shallow frying

Method

Steam the fish fillets. When done mash fish and mix it with the mashed boiled potatoes. Add the chilies, onion, salt and pepper and the cilantro. Make small round balls and dip in the beaten egg and then in breadcrumbs to coat. Shallow fry in hot oil till light golden brown. Serve hot with your favorite cocktail sauce or with ketchup.

 

Notes: This is an indian recipe and you could avoid the green peppers to make it less spicy. You could also substitute parsley leaves for the cilantro.
