Grilled Tuna Steaks with Sake Carrot Ginger Sauce


Grilled tuna with a rich, vegetable sauce that has a little zip from the sake rice wine.



Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. carrots, cleaned, coarse chop  
  • 1/4 C shallots, chopped  
  • 1/4 C ginger, chopped  
  • 1/4 C mirin (sweet sake)  
  • 1/4 C sake  
  • 4 6-oz Tuna steaks

Method

Place all ingredients but tuna in saucepan. Bring to simmer and cook till carrots are tender. Puree in food processor. Grill tuna on grill to desired doneness. Serve with sauce drizzled over fish.
