Seared Sesame Tuna with Orange Ginger Glaze

This quick and healthful recipe is great for a family on the go. It is light, nutritious and packed with bold flavors, a family favorite.
 

Ingredients

  • 4 small 4 oz tuna steaks
  • 1 cup sesame ginger salad dressing
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 package boil in bag whole grain rice
  • 2 cups frozen Asian mixed vegetables

Method

Mix salad dressing, orange juice and garlic powder in large bowl. Add tuna and set aside for 15 minutes. Place medium pot of water over high heat. Spread sesame seeds on large plate and take tuna out of marinade, let marinade drip off for a few seconds and place tuna on top of sesame seeds. Press tuna into seeds, turn over and coat other side. Coat a large nonstick frying pan with a thin layer of cooking spray and place over medium high heat. Place rice in boiling water and cook for 10 minutes, or according to package instructions. While rice is cooking, place tuna in pan and cook for 5 minutes on each side. While tuna and rice are cooking, pour marinade in medium saucepan and cook on high heat until slightly thickened, about 7 minutes. Microwave vegetables according to package directions. Place a bed of rice on each plate, top with vegetables, tuna and finally with orange sesame glaze.
