(Spicy) Asian Grilled Shrimp

Fresh Asian hot peppers give this grilled shrimp a hot and flavorful kick.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Asian fresh hot peppers (optional, but recommended)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (brown or white)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 of a fresh lime (squeezed)
  • 1/2 a bunch of cilantro (coarsely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • Wooden skewers (soak in water)
  • 20-30 large raw shrimp (shelled and deveined)

Method

Mix garlic, salt and peppers in a small food processor. Add sugar, honey, lime juice, cilantro and fish sauce and mix again. Place raw shrimp in sealed bag, pour mixture over, shake it well and let it sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour or overnight. Skewer 4-5 shrimp per each skewer and grill for about 2-5 minutes or until shrimp turns nice and pink.

 

Notes: While creating your mixture, instead of pouring all the mixture on the shrimp, set a little aside as a dipping sauce.
